Valis was a Spanish composer. He became maestro de capilla at Mataró parish church before 1688, and acquired positions at Gerona Cathedral (1688) and S. Maria del Mar, Barcelona (1696). On December 22, 1696 he became assistant to the maestro de capillaat Barcelona Cathedral; he became maestro on February 18, 1709, and retired in 1740, His compositions include twelve Masses, twenty-two responsaries, sixteen Magnificats, twelve Psalms, two Miserere, about thirty-five motets, and about 120 villancicos
